Director
Dr Makiwane is the founder of United Medical Clinic. She completed her medical training in 2004 at Walter Sisulu University in South Africa. She practiced Family Medicine in both rural and urban areas of South Africa and immigrated to Saskatchewan, Canada in 2010 and later moved to Alberta in 2014.
Dr Makiwane is vastly knowledgeable and experienced in the field of mental health, substance abuse and rehabilitation. She has a special interest in human behaviour and has completed various Cognitive Behavioural Therapy courses in Canada and USA. She is also a Certified Children’s Self-Esteem Coach and passionate weight management and healthy living.
She believes in building authentic, strong and trusting patient-doctor relationships in order to involve her patients in their health care needs. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling, public speaking on preventative medicine and mental health, women empowerment seminars, medical volunteer work , reading and running.

Vanthy is a hard working, goal oriented person and able to work independently but also a team player.
When not working, She loves spending time with her family, enjoys outdoor activities and her passion is travelling. Her dream is to travel around the world.
